Lewis Reed were the first Wheelchair Accessible Vehicle specialist to fund a series of wheelchair impact pull tests to M1 standards which were completed in conjunction with STATUS at Manchester University. To highlight our commitment to safety further, we were the first converter to achieve LVTA (Low Volume Type Approval) for the Volkswagen T5 and Toyota Hiace and are founder members of WAVCA (Wheelchair Accessible Vehicle Converters Association). Our latest VW conversions have all been LVTA certified including, a front passenger seating position for wheelchair users in the VW Cruiser MkIII, VW Shuttle and VW Caravelle. Lewis Reed is also been specifically accredited the VW ‘Engineered for you’ status.

Our success is focused around continued development. We have been awarded the ISO9001 accreditation for our manufacturing and design procedures. Quality control procedures are applied at every level of production.

We also lead the way with our advanced CAD facilities. In a matter of minutes, our engineers can produce precise and accurate plans of vehicle layouts.

Our Renault Kangoo conversion has been awarded the Renault 'Accord Produit' accreditation. Accord Produit is awarded to vehicle conversions that meet the stringent tests and specifications required by Renault to be recognised as an approved Renault conversion. It relies on the use of a selection of skilled converters, state of the art analysis of the converted vehicles, an aftersales network and an effective warranty from the vehicle converters.
