Motability
Motability is a national UK
charity, which helps disabled people and their families to become mobile. It
was set up on the initiative of the Government in 1977, to provide cars and
powered wheelchairs to disabled people.
The first Motability car was supplied in 1978 and since then more than 1.5
million cars and powered wheelchairs have been provided. The Motability
Scheme now has almost 400,000 customers, making it the leading car scheme
for disabled people.
All of our vehicles
are available on the various Motability purchase schemes. We are a
Motability Premier Partner, and our conversion of the Citroen
Berlingo is the first to be accredited for the new Motability WAV
standards.

WAVCA
Lewis Reed are founder
members of WAVCA (Wheelchair Accessible Vehicle Converters
Association). Our vehicles adhere to the requirements of the WAVCA Codes of Practice for the conversion of wheelchair accessible
vehicles.

Our
success is focused around continued development. We have been awarded the
ISO9001 accreditation for our manufacturing and design procedures. Quality
control procedures are applied at every level of production.

We work closely with
the VCA to ensure all of our conversions are the safest around.
Lewis Reed were the first Wheelchair Accessible Vehicle specialist to fund a
series of wheelchair impact pull tests to M1 standards which were completed
in conjunction with STATUS at Manchester University. To highlight our
commitment to safety further, we were the first converter to achieve LVTA
(Low Volume Type Approval) for the Volkswagen T4 and Toyota Hiace.

Renault 'Accord
Technique'
The Renault 'Accord
Technique' accreditation is awarded to vehicle conversions that meet
the stringent tests and specifications required by Renault to be
recognised as an approved Renault conversion. It relies on the use
of a selection of skilled converters, state of the art analysis of
the converted vehicles, an aftersales network and an effective
warranty from the vehicle converters. This range of products suited
to various needs is available throughout the Renault network.
